i <br /> LOUISIANA BOARD OF ETHICS <br /> CONSENT OPINION <br /> BD NO.2023-659 <br /> IN THE MATTER OF <br /> GREATER EDUCATION OPPORTUNITIES FOUNDATION,INC. <br /> CONSENT OPINION i <br /> The Louisiana Board of Ethics(the`Board"),pursuant to the authority contained in La.R.S. <br /> 42:1141, conducted a confidential investigation concerning information that Greater Education <br /> I <br /> Opportunities Foundation,Inc.(GEO Foundation)remitted payment to Linda Johnson for services <br /> rendered to GEO Foundation while she served as a member of the GEO Academies EBR Board of <br /> Directors and while GEO Academies EBR had a contractual relationship with GEO Foundation in <br /> derogation of La. R.S 42:1117 as Ms. Johnson was prohibited from receiving said compensation <br /> pursuant to La. R.S. 42:1111C(2)(d). <br /> On the basis of information obtained during the investigation, and with the concurrence of <br /> GEO Foundation, the Board now makes the following essential: <br /> z. <br /> PARTIES <br /> The Parties hereto are: <br /> Greater Education Opportunities Foundation,Inc.,a nonprofit corporation authorized <br /> to do and doing business in the State of Louisiana with a last known address of 1630 <br /> N.
