Ethics Board Docket No. 2021-346 <br /> Page 3 of 10 <br /> 3. <br /> On November 12, 2020, the District's Board of Directors accepted the resignation of the <br /> Executive Director. <br /> 4. <br /> On November 12,2020,the District's Board of Directors discussed and appointed Dr.James <br /> Gilmore, Jr. to the position of Interim Executive Director for the District. <br /> 5. <br /> Dr.James Gilmore,Jr. served as both a member of the Board of Directors for the District and <br /> its Interim Executive Director until September 16,2021, at which time April Hawthorne began her <br /> employment as the Executive Director for the District. <br /> 6. <br /> Dr.James Gilmore,Jr.received no compensation from the District for his service as Interim <br /> Executive Director. <br /> IV. <br /> PROVISIONS OF LAW: <br /> 1. <br /> Section 1113B of the Code of Governmental Ethics prohibits an appointed member of a <br /> board or commission from entering into or being in any way interested in a contract, subcontract,or <br /> other transaction under the supervision or jurisdiction of the appointed member's board.
