An appraisal was then conducted in October <br /> 2018. <br /> 6. <br /> At a March 18, 2019 meeting of the District's board, a motion was made to purchase an <br /> 8.88 acre tract of land from State Line for the sum of$40,000. Mr. Childress seconded the motion, <br /> and the motion passed unanimously. Mr. Childress participated in the vote. <br /> 7. <br /> The Cash Sale Deed between State Line and the District was executed on March 18, 2019. <br /> The Deed was signed by George Ogden on behalf of the District, and Mr. Childress signed as a <br /> witness to Mr. Ogden's signature. <br /> 8. <br /> From September 27, 2018 to March 18, 2019, State Line paid Mr. Childress his regular <br /> payroll compensation, which is approximately $1,400 per week. <br /> IV. <br /> PROVISIONS OF LAW: <br /> 1. <br /> Section 1111 C(2)(d) of the Ethics Code provides that no public servant and no legal entity <br /> in which the public servant exercises control or owns an interest in excess of twenty-five percent, <br /> shall receive any thing of economic value for or in consideration of services rendered, or to be <br /> rendered,to or for any person during his public service unless such services are neither performed <br /> for nor compensated by any person or from any officer, director, agent, or employee of such <br /> person, if such public servant knows or reasonably should know that such person has or is seeking <br />
