i <br /> LOUISIANA BOARD OF ETHICS <br /> CONSENT OPINION <br /> BD NO.2023-661 <br /> IN THE MATTER OF <br /> GREATER EDUCATION OPPORTUNITIES FOUNDATION,INC. <br /> CONSENT OPINION <br /> The Louisiana Board of Ethics(the"Board"),pursuant to the authority contained in La.R.S. <br /> 42:1141, conducted a confidential investigation concerning information that Greater Education <br /> Oppgrtunities Foundation, Inc. (GEO Foundation) remitted payment to Robert McGarner for <br /> assisting it in transactions with GEO Academes EBR within two years of-the termination of Mr. <br /> McGarner's service.on the GEO Academies EBR Charter School Board in derogation of La. R.S <br /> 42:1117 as Mr. McGarner was prohibited from receiving said compensation pursuant to La. R.S. <br /> 42:1121A. <br /> On the basis of information obtained during the investigation, and with the concurrence of <br /> Robert McGarner,the Board now makes the following essential: <br /> I. <br /> PARTIES <br /> The Parties hereto are: <br /> Greater Education Opportunities Foundation,Inc.,anonprofit corporation authorized <br /> to do and doing business in the State of Louisiana with a last known address of 1630 <br /> N.
