Ethics Board Docket No. 2023-1093 <br /> Page 4 of 9 <br /> IV. <br /> PROVISIONS OF LAW: <br /> L <br /> Section 1111 C(1)(a)of the Ethics Code prohibits a public servant from receiving any thing <br /> of economic value for any service, the subject matter of which is devoted substantially to the <br /> responsibilities,programs,or operations of the agency of the public servant and in which the public <br /> servant has participated. Section 1111C(1)(a) of the Ethics Code provides in pertinent part: <br /> §1111. Payment from nonpublic sources <br /> C. Payrnents for nonpublic service <br /> (1)No public servant shall receive any thing of economic value for any service,the subject <br /> matter of which: <br /> (a) Is devoted substantially to the responsibilities,programs, or operations of the agency of <br /> the public servant and in which the public servant has participated. <br /> 2. <br /> Section 1113A of the Ethics Code provides that no public servant, or a member of such a <br /> public servant's immediate family, or a legal entity in which he has a controlling interest shall bid <br /> on or enter into any contract, subcontract or other transaction that is under the supervision or <br /> jurisdiction of the agency of such public servant. Section 1113A of the Ethics Code provides in <br /> pertinent part: <br /> §1113. Prohibited contractual arrangements; exceptions; reports <br /> A.(1)(a) No public servant, excluding any legislator and any appointed member of any <br /> board or commission and any member of a governing authority of a parish with a <br /> population of ten thousand or less, or member of such a public servant's immediate family, <br /> or legal entity in which he has a controlling interest shall bid on or enter into any contract, <br /> subcontract, or other transaction that is under the supervision or jurisdiction of the agency <br /> of such public servant. <br />
