Ethics Board Docket No. 2024-113 <br /> Page 10 of 12 <br /> VI. <br /> ORDER: <br /> For the foregoing reasons: <br /> IT IS ORDERED that Ergon Asphalt & Emulsions, Inc. violated La. R.S. 42:1117 by <br /> giving Tommy Durrett,the Public Works Director for the Union Parish Police Jury,complimentary <br /> hotel accommodations for three nights in Nashville, Tennessee, when he was prohibited by La. <br /> R.S.42:1115A(1) from receiving such a gift because Ergon Asphalt&Emulsions, Inc.had or was <br /> seeking to obtain a contractual or other business or financial relationship with Tommy Durrett's <br /> agency,the Union Parish Police Jury. <br /> IT IS FURTHER ORDERED that a$5,000.00 civil penalty, payable to the Treasurer of <br /> the State of Louisiana,be imposed upon Ergon Asphalt&Emulsions, Inc., and that in the event of <br /> a failure to pay, a suit may be filed to compel immediate payment of any balance due. <br /> [Signatures Contained on the Following Pages] <br />
