Ethics Board Docket No. 2024-510 <br /> Page 7 of 9 <br /> in the legal entity exceeds twenty-five percent.Accordingly,Adam Coleman and Coleman Culture <br /> Basketball LLC were prohibited by Section 1113A(1)(a) of the Ethics Code from entering into <br /> contracts, subcontracts, or transactions that are under the supervision or jurisdiction of Sulphur <br /> High School. <br /> Therefore, based on the foregoing facts, when Adam Coleman, on behalf of Coleman <br /> Culture Basketball LLC, entered into rental agreements with the Calcasieu Parish School Board to <br /> use Sulphur High School's facilities, Adam Coleman and Coleman Culture Basketball LLC <br /> violated La. R.S. 42:1113A(1)(a) because the rental agreements are transactions under the <br /> supervision of his agency, Sulphur High School. <br /> If this matter proceeded to a public hearing before the Ethics Adjudicatory Board, and the <br /> Ethics Adjudicatory Board found a violation of the Ethics Code, the Ethics Adjudicatory Board <br /> could impose a fine of up to $10,000 for each violation of the Ethics Code, pursuant to La. R.S. <br /> 42:1153B. In this particular situation, it is the conclusion of the BOE that the interests of the public <br /> and judicial efficiency would be served by, and the parties have agreed to, resolving this matter <br /> amicably through the publication of this Consent Opinion in lieu of any additional action being <br /> taken by the BOE against Adam Coleman and Coleman Culture Basketball LLC. <br /> VL <br /> ORDER: <br /> For the foregoing reasons: <br /> IT IS ORDERED that Adam Coleman, in his capacity as a public servant, and Coleman <br /> Culture Basketball LLC,a legal entity in which Adam Coleman has a controlling interest,violated <br /> Section 1113A(1)(a) of the Ethics Code by virtue of entering into transactions under the <br /> supervision or jurisdiction of Adam Coleman's agency, Sulphur High School. <br />
