Ethics Board Docket No. 2024-188 <br /> Page 4 of10 <br /> IV. <br /> PROVISIONS OF LAW: <br /> 1. <br /> Section 1111A of the Ethics Code prohibits a public employee from receiving anything of <br /> economic value, other than compensation and benefits from the governmental entity to which he <br /> is duly entitled, for the performance of the duties and responsibilities of his office or position. <br /> Section 1111A of the Ethics Code provides in pertinent part: <br /> §1111. Payment from nonpublic sources <br /> A. Payments for services to the governmental entity <br /> (1)(a)No public servant shall receive anything of economic value,other than compensation <br /> and benefits from the governmental entity to which he is duly entitled, for the performance <br /> of the duties and responsibilities of his office or position. <br /> 2. <br /> Section 1112B(4) of the Ethics Code prohibits a public servant from participating in a <br /> governmental transaction in which a person with whom they are negotiating for future employment <br /> has a substantial economic interest. Section 1112B of the Ethics Code provides in pertinent part: <br /> §1113. Participation in certain transactions involving the governmental entity <br /> B. No public servant, except as provided in R.S. 42:1120, shall participate in a transaction <br /> involving the governmental entity in which, to his actual knowledge, any of the following <br /> persons has a substantial economic interest: <br /> * * * <br /> (4)Any person with whom he is negotiating or has an arrangement concerning prospective <br /> employment. <br />
