411 ETHICS BOARD <br /> OPINION NO. 92 -088 <br /> PAGE 6 <br /> travel to Hawaii for personal, nongovernmental reasons. Mr. <br /> Mamoulides has informed the Board that he accepted an invitation <br /> from Mr. Robinowitz for a holiday in Hawaii; and, that while Mr. <br /> Robinowitz provided the air transportation and lodging, they were <br /> not given to Mr. Mamoulides for the performance of his duties and <br /> responsibilities as the District Attorney for the Parish of <br /> Jefferson. Moreover, Mr. Mamoulides stated that to the best of <br /> his knowledge neither Mr. Robinowitz nor Mr. Hemmeter either <br /> directly or indirectly was seeking for compensation or otherwise <br /> to influence actions of the Office of the District Attorney for <br /> 411 the Parish of Jefferson. <br /> Prior to the Board beginning its investigation, Mayor <br /> Barthelemy reimbursed Mr. Hemmeter the cost associated with his <br /> trip by virtue of a check dated June 19, 1992 in the amount of <br /> $6,107.00; Councilman Boissiere reimbursed Mr. Hemmeter the cost <br /> associated with his trip by check dated June 19, 1992 in the <br /> amount of $8,643.00; and, Senator Nunez reimbursed Mr. Hemmeter <br /> $625.00 for the overnight lodging provided to the senator and his <br /> spouse. <br /> "The Colorado Trip" <br /> Mr. Daniel Robinowitz maintains a professional partnership <br /> relationship with Mr. Christopher Hemmeter and both Mr. Robinowitz <br /> and Mr. Hemmeter are involved in a series of joint ventures, <br /> 411 partnerships and other arrangements throughout the United States <br /> and elsewhere. Mr. Robinowitz has been a friend of Governor <br /> Edwards for many years. <br />
