His duties do not <br /> include participation in personnel decisions, such as hiring, evaluations, merit increases, <br /> promotions, and disciplinary actions. Mr. Curry is not a supervisor of communications <br /> officers. <br /> You ask whether Charles Curry's wife,Angie Curry, would be prohibited from being hired <br /> by the Winnfield Police Department as a full-time police communications officer. Any <br /> personnel decisions regarding Angie Curry would be made by you as Chief of Police. <br /> LAW& PRIOR ADVISORY OPINIONS <br /> La. R.S. 42:1119A provides that no member of the immediate family of an agency head <br /> shall be employed in his agency. La. R.S. 42:1102(3) defines "agency head" as the chief <br /> executive or administrative officer of an agency. <br /> La.
