Ethics Board Docket Nos. 2022-637 <br /> Page 3 of 9 <br /> 3. <br /> On February 10,2020,James Hopkins,as Superintendent of the Livingston Parish Gravity <br /> Drainage District No. 5, participated in the recommendation to the Livingston Parish Gravity <br /> Drainage District No. 5 Board of Commissioners to promote George Truax, Sr. to the position of <br /> Foreman. <br /> 4. <br /> George Truax,Sr.received a raise upon his promotion to Foreman with the Livingston Parish <br /> Gravity Drainage District No. 5. <br /> 5. <br /> If called to testify, Mr. Hopkins would stated that Mr. Truax was next in line for the <br /> promotion and the only employee who maintained the required CDL License for the position. <br /> IV. <br /> PROVISIONS OF LAW: <br /> 1. <br /> Section 1112 prohibits a public servant from participating in a transaction involving his <br /> governmental entity in which he knows a member of his immediate family has a substantial <br /> economic interest. <br /> §1112. <br /> B.No public servant shall participate in a transaction involving the governmental <br /> entity in which, to his actual knowledge, any of the following persons has a <br /> substantial economic interest: <br />
