COMMISSION ON ETHICS FOR PUBLIC EMPLOYEES <br /> DATE: July 27, 1995 OPINION NO. 93 -225 <br /> RE: In the matter of George Dyer and Fire Apparatus <br /> Specialties, Inc. <br /> The Commission on Ethics for Public Employees (the <br /> "Commission "), at its meetings of January 12, 1995, February 17, <br /> 1995 and March 30, 1995, conducted a public hearing for the <br /> purpose of exploring the following: <br /> CHARGES <br /> 1. <br /> That George Dyer may have violated Section 1111 <br /> C(2)(d) of the Louisiana Code of Governmental <br /> Ethics (La. R.S. 42:1111C(2)(d)) by providing <br /> compensated services to Fire Apparatus <br /> • Specialties, Inc. (FAS) at a time when FAS was <br /> selling equipment and services to the Third <br /> District Volunteer Fire Department for which <br /> George Dyer served as Assistant Fire Chief. <br /> 2. <br /> That George Dyer may have violated Section 1112 <br /> B(2) and or (3) of the Louisiana Code of <br /> Governmental Ethics (La. R.S. 42:1112 B(2) and or <br /> (3)) by virtue of his participation, as Assistant <br /> Fire Chief, in purchases of goods and services <br /> made by the Third District Volunteer Fire <br /> Department from Fire Apparatus Specialties, Inc. <br /> (FAS), of which he owned 40 %. <br /> 3. <br /> That Fire Apparatus Specialties, Inc. (FAS) may <br /> have violated Section 1113 A of the Louisiana <br /> Code of Governmental Ethics (La. R.S. 42:1113 A) <br /> by virtue of selling goods and services to the <br /> Third District Volunteer Fire Department, at a <br /> 411 <br />
