Ethics Board Docket No. 2021-139 <br /> Page 9 of 11 <br /> VI. <br /> ORDER: <br /> For the foregoing reasons: <br /> IT IS ORDERED that Rowdy Gaudet, in his capacity as Councilman, Metro District 3, <br /> East Baton Rouge Parish, violated Section 1111 C(2)(d) of the Ethics Code by receiving any thing <br /> of economic value for services rendered to a person that had or was seeking to have a contractual, <br /> financial or other business relationship with the City-Parish, by virtue of his receipt of <br /> compensation for services rendered to Emergent Method at a time when Emergent Method had <br /> contracts with the City-Parish. <br /> IT IS FURTHER ORDERED that a $50,000 civil penalty, payable to the Treasurer of <br /> the State of Louisiana, be imposed upon Rowdy Gaudet and that in the event of a failure to pay, a <br /> suit may be filed to compel immediate payment of any balance due. <br /> IT IS FURTHER ORDERED that Rowdy Gaudet be allowed to satisfy the $50,000 civil <br /> penalty through the payment of an initial payment of$20,000 due on or before September 2, 2022, <br /> plus 8 equal quarterly installments of $3,750.00, as set forth in the Confession of Judgment <br /> attached hereto and made a part hereof as Exhibit"A". Failure to make one scheduled installment <br /> payment as set forth in the Confession of Judgment will cause any remaining amount outstanding <br /> to be immediately due and owing. <br />
