Ethics Board Docket No. 2021-334 <br /> Page 9 of 12 <br /> husband,Derrell Martin,with the Walter Cohen College Prep Charter School. <br /> IT IS ORDERED that Darren Lewis, in his capacity as the Principal of the Walter Cohen <br /> College Prep Charter School, violated La. R.S. 42:1112B(1) by virtue of his participation in the <br /> hiring process involving his brother-in-law when he recommended Derrell Martin be hired as a <br /> teacher with the Walter Cohen College Prep Charter School. <br /> IT IS ORDERED that Derrell Martin violated La. R.S. 42:1119 by virtue of his <br /> employment with the Walter Cohen College Prep Charter School while his brother-in-law, Darren <br /> Lewis, served as the Principal of the Walter Cohen College Prep Charter School. <br /> IT IS FURTHER ORDERED that a$1,500.00 civil penalty,payable to the Treasurer of the <br /> State of Louisiana, is hereby assessed upon Darren Lewis, and that in the event of a failure to pay, <br /> that suit may be filed to compel immediate payment of any balance due. <br /> IT IS FURTHER ORDERED that a S 1,000.00 civil penalty,payable to the Treasurer of the <br /> State of Louisiana,is hereby assessed upon Derrell Martin, and that in the event of a failure to pay, <br /> that suit may be filed to compel immediate payment of any balance due. <br />
