Ethics Board Docket No. 2021-751 <br /> Page 9 of 11 <br /> immediate family member had a substantial economic interest. Therefore,Trisean"Sean"Wilson's <br /> participation in the hiring process was prohibited by the Code. <br /> If this matter proceeded to a public hearing before the Ethics Adjudicatory Board, and the <br /> Ethics Adjudicatory Board found a violation of the Code of Governmental Ethics, the Ethics <br /> Adjudicatory Board could impose a fine of up to $10,000 for each violation of the Code. In this <br /> particular situation,it is the conclusion of the Board that the interest of the public would be served <br /> by, and the parties have agreed to resolving this matter amicably through the publication of this <br /> Consent Opinion with the imposition of a$3,500 civil penalty against Trisean"Sean"Wilson. <br /> VI. <br /> ORDER: <br /> For the foregoing reasons: <br /> IT IS ORDERED that Trisean"Sean"Wilson,in his capacity as the Head of School of the <br /> International High School of New Orleans Charter School violated La. R.S. 42:1119 by virtue of <br /> the employment of his brother, Kevin Wilson,with the International High School of New Orleans <br /> Charter School. <br /> IT IS ORDERED that Trisean"Sean"Wilson,in his capacity as the Head of School of the <br /> International High School of New Orleans Charter School,violated La.R.S.42:1112B(1)by virtue <br /> of his participation in the hiring process involving his brother when he executed the two employment <br /> contracts on behalf of the International High School of New Orleans Charter School with his brother <br /> and sent him documentation regarding his salary increase. <br /> IT IS FURTHER ORDERED that a$3,500.00 civil penalty,payable to the Treasurer of the <br /> State of Louisiana,is hereby assessed upon Trisean"Sean"Wilson,and that in the event of a failure <br /> to pay,that suit may be filed to compel immediate payment of any balance due. <br />
