LOUISIANA BOARD OF ETHICS <br /> CONSENT OPINION <br /> RE: IN THE MATTER OF BD NO: 2024-OSl <br /> KENNETH PICKETT, SR. <br /> The Board of Ethics (the `BOE"), pursuant to the authority contained in the Louisiana <br /> Code of Governmental Ethics (hereinafter referred to as the "Ethics Code"), La. R.S. 42:1101, et. <br /> seq., and particularly Section 1141 of the Ethics Code, conducted a confidential investig�tion <br /> concerning information that Kenneth Pickett, Sr., in his capacity as the Mayor of Mansura, may <br /> have violated La. R.S. 42:1116(A)by virtue of his attempt to use his position as Mayor of Mansura <br /> to coerce or compel officers with the Mansura Police Department to refrain from performing their <br /> job duties of arresting his son, Kenneth Pickett, Jr., on a domestic abuse charge and releasing him <br /> D <br /> from police custody so his son could avoid criminal charges and costs associated with the defense <br /> of those alleged violations of criminal laws. � <br /> On the basis of information obtained during the investigation, the BOF, and Kenneth <br /> Pickett, Sr. enter into this Consent Opinion as follows: <br /> L PARTIES <br /> The Parties hereto are: <br /> Kenneth Pickett, Sr., a person of the full age of majority, domiciled in the Parish <br /> of Avoyelles with a last known address of 7006 Coco Street, Mansura, Louisiana, <br /> 71350-4658. <br /> The Louisiana Board of Ethics, an agency of the State of Louisiana, whose <br /> mailing address is P.O. Box 4368, Baton Rouge, Louisiana, 70821. <br />
