LOUISIANA BOARD OF ETHICS <br /> CONSENT OPINION <br /> RE: IN THE MATTER OF BD NO: 2022-209 <br /> FERNEST MARTIN <br /> The Board of Ethics (the "BOE"), pursuant to the authority contained in the Louisiana <br /> Code of Governmental Ethics (hereinafter referred to as the "Ethics Code"), La. R.S. 42:1101, et. <br /> seq., and particularly Section 1141 of the Ethics Code, conducted a confidential investigation <br /> concerning information that Fernest Martin, in his capacity as City Marshal for the City of <br /> Jeanerette, Parish of Iberia, may have violated La. R.S. 42:1111(A)(1)(a) of the Ethics Code. <br /> Fernest Martin may have violated La. R.S. 42:1111(A)(1)(a) by virtue of his receipt of improper <br /> overtime payments, which he was not duly entitled to receive, for the performance of his duties <br /> and responsibilities as Jeanerette City Marshal. <br /> On the basis of information obtained during the investigation, and with the concurrence of <br /> Fernest Martin, the BOE and Fernest Martin enter into this Consent Opinion as follows: <br /> I. <br /> PARTIES: <br /> The Parties hereto are: <br /> Fernest Martin, a person of the full age of majority, domiciled in the Parish of <br /> Iberia with a last known address of 1307 Tarleton Street, Jeanerette, Louisiana <br /> 70544. <br /> The Louisiana Board of Ethics, an agency of the State of Louisiana, whose <br /> mailing address is P.O. Box 4368, Baton Rouge, Louisiana, 70821. <br />
