Ethics Board Docket Nos. 2023-659 <br /> Page 5 of 11 <br /> 8. <br /> GEO Foundation issued 1099-NEC Tax Forms to Linda Johnson evidencing payment from <br /> GEO Foundation to Ms. Johnson of$36,000.00 in 2020, $42,000.00 in 2021, $46,281.62 in 2022 <br /> and $12,000.00 in 2023. <br /> IV. <br /> PROVISIONS OF LAW: <br /> 1. <br /> La. R.S. 17:3996B Notwithstanding any state law, rule, or regulation to the contrary and <br /> except as may be otherwise specifically provided for in an approved charter, a charter school <br /> established and operated in accordance with the provisions of this Chapter and its approved charter <br /> and the school's officers and employees shall be exempt from all statutory mandates or other statutory <br /> requirements that are applicable to public schools and to public school officers and employees except <br /> for the following laws otherwise applicable to public schools with the same grades: (20) Code of <br /> Governmental Ethics, R.S. 42:1101 et seq., with the exception of R.S. 42:1119 as it applies to any <br /> person employed by a charter school prior to August 15, 2003. <br /> 2. <br /> Section ll 11C(2)(d) prohibits a public servant from receiving any thing of economic value <br /> for services rendered to a person that has or is seeking to have a contractual, business or other <br /> financial relationship with the public servant's agency-. <br />
